Trello Integration with Google Spreadsheets

Client: Software Company, Hong Kong

Case Study: Trello is a software that lets you create job boards, lists, and cards to enable organizing and prioritizing  projects. Client wished to integrate Trello with the Google Spreadsheets data for projects for project management.


  • We used Google Apps Script to access Trello API from Google Spreadsheet and read task lists for each project
  • Added business logic to the tasks data in projects before storing them in the Spreadsheets – calculate number of story points associated with each task based on its complexity, delay in task from due date, group the tasks by project and user for easy reporting
